Rogue Assassination PVE Macros

These Assassination Rogue PvE macros are designed for WoW WotLK 3.3.5a and focus on poison-based target control, stealth openers, Mutilate, bleed maintenance, Envenom finishers and raid utility. They reduce unnecessary target switching and make Tricks of the Trade, Kick, Vanish and emergency defense easier to use without automating the Rogue priority.

Use the exact spell, poison, item and target names from your client. Stealth opener macros should stop attacking before entering stealth, while focus and mouseover macros require a valid secondary target. Test each macro on a target dummy before using it in a raid.

Mutilate mouseover

Starts attacking and casts Mutilate on a hostile mouseover target, falling back to your current target.

#showtooltip Mutilate
/startattack
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][harm,nodead] Mutilate

Garrote or Mutilate

Uses Garrote from stealth and Mutilate when you are not stealthed.

#showtooltip [stealth] Garrote; Mutilate
/stopattack
/cast [stealth] Garrote; [nostealth] Mutilate

Ambush or Mutilate

Uses Ambush from stealth and Mutilate outside stealth. Use it only when Ambush is part of your opener or Vanish plan.

#showtooltip [stealth] Ambush; Mutilate

#showtooltip [mod:alt] Rupture; Envenom
/cast [mod:alt] Rupture; Envenom

Cold Blood Envenom

Uses Cold Blood and then Envenom. Press again if the global cooldown prevents both commands from firing on the first press.

#showtooltip Envenom
/cast Cold Blood
/cast Envenom

Envenom burst

Uses equipped trinkets, the glove slot, Cold Blood and Envenom. Keep a separate Envenom key if cooldown timing must remain independent.

#showtooltip Shiv
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][harm,nodead] Shiv

Fan of Knives

Uses Fan of Knives and starts attacking, making the button reliable when changing to an area-damage pack.

How to use Assassination Rogue macros

Open the in-game Macros window, create a macro and paste the code exactly as shown. Place it on an action bar and bind it to a key that is easy to reach. The #showtooltip line displays the relevant ability icon and cooldown. For focus or mouseover macros, confirm the intended enemy or friendly target before pressing the button.

Focus Tricks of the Trade and Kick macros let you support the tank or interrupt a secondary target without losing the boss. Mouseover macros are useful during add phases, but always verify the target before applying a poison effect, blind or utility spell.

Assassination Rogue PvE macro tips

Mutilate, Hunger for Blood, Rupture, Slice and Dice and Envenom depend on energy, combo points, poison uptime and buff duration. Modifier macros can reduce action-bar clutter, but they cannot decide which finisher is correct. Check your combo points and remaining buffs before pressing the button.

Cold Blood, trinkets, glove effects and Envenom may not all fire on the same press because of the global cooldown. Keep a plain Envenom key available when cooldown timing matters. Fan of Knives is useful for planned area damage, while poison application and target priority remain manual decisions.

Vanish, Cloak of Shadows, Evasion, Feint and Tricks of the Trade are encounter tools, not automatic rotation buttons. Bind them where they are reachable during movement, threat changes and incoming damage. Focus Kick and Blind can preserve boss uptime while handling a secondary target.

Compatibility and troubleshooting

These macros target the WoW WotLK 3.3.5a macro system. Spell names, poison names and item names must match the language and database of your client, while private-server differences can affect protected actions, stealth and target conditions. If a macro fails, test the ability alone, confirm your stealth state and focus target, and reload the UI after editing.

Macros cannot automate energy pooling, combo-point decisions, poison management or cooldown timing. Their purpose is to reduce targeting friction and make stealth, finishers, interrupts and raid utility more consistent while leaving encounter awareness with the player.
