When to Use Bloodlust in ToC, ICC, and Ruby Sanctum

This guide lists common Bloodlust timings (often called BL) for key WotLK raid encounters. Use these timings as a baseline and adjust based on your raid’s DPS and your raid leader’s calls.

ToC

Northrend Beasts

  • 2nd mini-boss (the worms) — on pull

Faction Champions

  • on pull

Anub’arak

  • Phase 2 — on Raid Leader call

ICC

Lady Deathwhisper

  • right after the second trash pack, or at the start of Phase 2

Deathbringer Saurfang

  • on pull

Rotface

  • on pull

Professor Putricide

  • Phase 3 (if DPS is weak)
  • or not used (if DPS is strong)

Blood Princes

  • on pull, if Bloodlust was not used on Professor Putricide

Blood-Queen Lana’thel

  • on pull, if Bloodlust was not used on Blood Princes

Valithria Dreamwalker

  • for healing the boss to full during Bloodlust

Sindragosa

  • Phase 2 (after the 2nd ice block if DPS is weak)
  • or on landing at Phase 2 (if DPS is strong)

The Lich King

  • Phase 2 for the second Valkyr wave (if DPS is weak)
  • on pull, or Phase 3 for the execute/burn (if DPS is strong)

Ruby Sanctum

Baltharus

  • on pull

Halion

  • if the raid has 1 Shaman: in the twilight realm at 51% boss HP, right before half the raid leaves to the physical realm
  • if the raid has 2+ Shamans: on Raid Leader call
