Power Infusion (PI) is a talent in the Discipline priest tree. It lasts 15 seconds and has a 96-second cooldown with the cooldown-reduction talent.
⚠️ Important: PI does not provide any casting speed increase during Bloodlust or Icy Veins, so it should NEVER be used together with them. The only benefit in that situation is reduced mana cost, which is not that important.
The primary target for PI in a raid is a Fire mage (in 90%+ of cases). More rarely, it goes to other casters or healers.
Usage principles
- Do not use it during Bloodlust(BL).
- With trinket procs / damage buffs / execute phases.
For a Fire mage, the “execute” phase starts at 35% boss HP.
Good buff windows: Mirror Image for the mage, Metamorphosis for the lock, Lunar Eclipse for the boomkin.
Top trinkets: Phylactery of the Nameless Lich (20 sec, 100 sec CD), Charred Twilight Scale (15 sec, 50 sec CD), Dislodged Foreign Object (20 sec, stacks up to 10; 45 sec CD).
⚠️ If a proc is going to happen too late (for example, 10 seconds before the boss dies), use PI earlier so the full 15 seconds of the buff actually play out.
Adjust based on raid strength and boss kill timer.
In a weaker raid: use PI on cooldown or with a Phylactery of the Nameless Lich proc.
In a stronger raid: line it up strictly with key procs and phases to squeeze out maximum DPS.
ICC 25 Heroic bosses
Lord Marrowgar
- Kill timer ~1:30; BL on pull: use PI on the second Charred Twilight Scale proc (~1:00) or during “execute” <35%.
- Timer 1:50–2:00 without BL: with Phylactery of the Nameless Lich — use PI on the pull and again around ~1:45.
Lady Deathwhisper
- Timer ~2:10, BL on pull: second Phylactery of the Nameless Lich proc (~1:45).
- Timer >2:20, BL on pull: after BL, use PI on cooldown.
Deathbringer Saurfang
- Timer ≤1:50, BL on pull: second Charred Twilight Scale proc.
- Timer ~2:00+, BL on pull: second Phylactery of the Nameless Lich proc (~1:45).
Festergut
- Timer ≤2:10, BL on pull: second Phylactery of the Nameless Lich proc (~1:45).
- Timer ~2:30, BL on pull: after BL, use PI on cooldown.
- Without BL: with Phylactery of the Nameless Lich — on the pull and again around ~1:45.
Rotface
- Same logic as Festergut.
Professor Putricide
- BL on pull: use PI with every Charred Twilight Scale proc that’s off CD (2nd, 4th).
- BL in the last phase: us PI with every Phylactery of the Nameless Lich proc outside of BL.
Blood Prince Council
- BL on pull: second Scale proc (~1:00) or during execute <35%.
- Without BL: on CD together with Phylactery of the Nameless Lich procs.
Blood Queen Lana’thel
- Entirely situational: PI goes to whoever gets the first bite (not always a mage).
- Depends on BL timing and trinket procs.
Valithria Dreamwalker
- PI into a healer (Resto shaman / Holy paladin) if their main heal casts are >1 sec.
- From the pull and then on CD after each portal phase, outside of BL.
Sindragosa
- From the pull with Phylactery of the Nameless Lich, then again after the air phase.
The Lich King
- From the pull with Phylactery of the Nameless Lich. After that, also with Phylactery of the Nameless Lich procs, but adjust based on the situation.
