Reading the ClassLoot stars
ClassLoot r126 adds class and talent suitability information to item tooltips. Its package is an Interface 30300-era addon with ClassLootDB and optional Ace3, LibBabble and periodic-table libraries. The star display is intended for non-tier items: it indicates which classes or talent trees are likely to use the item, rather than claiming that an item is the best possible upgrade.
Link or inspect an item and read the ClassLoot line in the tooltip. Use the result during a dungeon or raid loot discussion to identify possible users before opening a formal roll. The practical limitation is that the display is static database advice; it cannot know the character’s current set bonus, hit cap, preferred stat weights or planned PvP/PvE role. If a tooltip has no star data, the item is outside the package database or a required library/module did not load. ClassLoot r126 is the version in the supplied archive.
The stars are a tooltip aid during a roll, not a bid system. The player still needs to compare armor type, weapon specialization, item stats and the intended talent build. LibBabble and periodic-table libraries provide names and classifications; they do not calculate a current character’s best upgrade. A missing classification should be treated as unknown.
During a group roll, use the tooltip star as the first filter, then confirm the item against the actual class and talent build. The source database cannot know a player’s personal upgrade path.
