Clique is a click-casting interface for unit frames. In the supplied r143-release package for WotLK 3.3.5, it assigns mouse clicks and modifier combinations to spells, items, or macros without requiring the player to change target first. The archive stores settings in CliqueDB, includes binding and options code, and lists Dongle as optional.
How the binding works
Open Clique options and choose a click set. Create a binding by selecting a mouse button or a modifier combination, then assigning the spell, item, or macro that should run. When the cursor is over a compatible unit-frame button, Clique sends the action to the unit represented by that frame. This is the central healer workflow: bind a direct heal to one combination, a dispel to another, and an emergency spell to a third, then test each on a party frame before entering combat.
The unit-frame addon must expose compatible secure buttons. Clique cannot turn an arbitrary frame into a click-casting frame, so the same binding may work on party frames but not on a custom frame that does not provide the expected unit-button hooks.
Clicks, modifiers, and ordinary frame actions
Use modifiers when one mouse button needs more than one job. Keep an unmodified click available if the frame addon uses it for targeting. Reassigning a right click can remove the unit menu, while replacing a target-related click can make selecting or inspecting a unit inconvenient. To change or remove an action, edit the existing entry in the selected click set instead of creating an overlapping binding.
The r143 changelog documents an option to cast on mouse-down; the normal behavior is mouse-up. Mouse-down can start a heal as soon as the button is pressed, but it should be tested with the chosen unit-frame addon because it changes the feel of every binding. Secure click bindings cannot be freely changed during combat, so configure them before a dungeon or raid.
Profiles and version limits
The archive contains profile and talent-group handling, allowing different click sets to follow the selected profile or talent group. This is the supplied Clique r143-release build for Interface 30300, not a current Retail Clique package; later profile formats or Retail-only behavior should not be assumed. Dongle is optional according to the package TOC.
Practical setup
Install Clique beside the unit-frame addon, open its options before combat, create one click set, and bind one heal plus one utility spell. Test the bindings on a party member, verify that ordinary left and right clicks still perform the actions you want, then add more spells. If a binding does nothing, first check that the cursor is over a supported unit frame and that the secure configuration was not being changed during combat.
