RSA (Raeli’s Spell Announcer) is a combat communication addon for WoW WotLK 3.3.5a. It automatically announces important spell uses to chat, helping party and raid members know when key cooldowns or utility abilities have been used.
It is especially useful for tanks, healers, and support classes that frequently use interrupts, defensive cooldowns, taunts, or other abilities that teammates need to react to.
What RSA does
RSA can announce many different types of abilities, including:
- Interrupts
- Defensive cooldowns
- Utility spells
- Class-specific abilities
- Important support effects such as Soulstone
Announcements can be sent to different chat channels depending on how you configure the addon.
For example, RSA can notify your party when you interrupt an enemy spell or tell the raid when an important defensive cooldown has been activated.
Configuration
Open the RSA configuration with:
/rsa
You can then choose your class or spell options, select which abilities should generate announcements, and configure where those messages should be sent.
The WotLK version also supports customizable spell announcement text, including replaceable spell information.
It is usually better to enable announcements only for abilities that teammates actually need to know about. Announcing every minor ability can quickly create unnecessary chat spam.
Installation
- Download the RSA archive.
- Close World of Warcraft.
- Extract the addon into World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns.
- Start the game and make sure RSA is enabled.
- Type /rsa and configure the spells you want to announce.
RSA is most useful when configured selectively, providing clear information about important cooldowns without flooding party or raid chat.
